About the Artist

Can the songs of birds be painted? Artist Susan McHale delves into creating the audio sensations she hears as colors, movement and textures. When you see her paintings, you listen. Susan creates spectrums of frequencies with vertical and horizontal axes of time and amplitude. A QR code of the sound of the bird singing will be accompanying each painting.

McHale has a B.A. from Trinity College and took classes in London at The Royal College of Art, and a Visible Language Workshop at M.I.T.. She was involved with experimental printing at the Media Lab in the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She is a Greenwich, Connecticut resident and has exhibited throughout the state.
