YWCA Greenwich Membership Policies
1Membership Registration
Upon joining YWCA Greenwich, Full Members pay the Initiation Fee and the first and last month’s Membership fees in full. Monthly Membership fees shall be paid through electronic deduction from the Member’s checking account or against the Member’s credit card.
2Initiation Fee
The Initiation Fee is non-refundable. It must be paid upon joining Full Membership at YWCA Greenwich. If there’s a lapse in membership for more than one year, the Member shall be obligated to pay the Initiation Fee upon rejoining. If the lapse in membership is less than one year, this fee shall be waived. Initiation Fees do not apply to Adult, Senior or Youth Affiliate Memberships, and these memberships may not be placed on freeze. Fees for Adult, Senior or Youth Affiliate memberships are non-refundable.
3Payment
Full Members agree to make payment each month in full for a minimum of 12 months. After 12 months, requests for cancellation must be submitted in writing. Members can expect monthly payments for the current month’s dues to be deducted on the first or fifteenth of each month or within ten business days of their assigned draft date which is dependent on the date of sign-up. Should you choose to update or change the date of your monthly draft, you can update your Member profile online or submit a written request for a new date to the front desk. YWCA Greenwich will continue monthly charges until written request with the update or change is submitted. Once updated billing information is submitted to YWCA Greenwich, the Member agrees that the new payment information will replace the billing information previously held.
4Returned Payment, Check or Draft
As a Member of YWCA Greenwich, you agree to pay all fees on time and to have funds available for the monthly draft where applicable. As a Member you agree to pay all costs incurred to enforce collection including, but not limited to, administrative costs and attorney’s fees. In addition, for each check or draft that is not honored, a service fee will be charged at the responsibility of the Member. Participation in YWCA Greenwich programs and access to the facilities will be suspended until full payment is received.
5Membership Identification and Check-In
All Full Members must scan their YWCA Membership Card upon entering the building. Affiliate Members will be provided an ID that they must show to the Members Services Desk upon entering the building.
A fee will be charged to replace a lost card. Membership Cards are issued to Members only and are non-transferable. A Member authorizing improper use of Membership Cards will have his or her family or individual Membership terminated immediately.
New Membership Cards may be issued from time to time with updated scanning requirements.
6Club Etiquette
Members and their guests must always wear proper clothing. Street clothes and street shoes are not permitted while using the fitness center, studios and gymnasium. In addition, shirts and athletic shoes with non-marking soles must always be worn while participating in all YWCA Greenwich athletic activities. Only sneakers or shoes with flat soles are allowed in the gymnasium, even as a spectator. Swimsuits are required for the pool. YWCA Greenwich is a smoke-free facility. Therefore, smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas inside and outside of the building. Consideration and courtesy of fellow Members as well as employees is always expected. This includes no foul language or abusive behavior.
YWCA Greenwich prioritizes the health and safety of members and non-members who may enter the facility, and we recognize that there may be individuals entering the facility who have life-threatening food allergies. Similar to the Greenwich Public Schools, we ask that members and non-members entering the facility take reasonable precautions to reduce exposure to food allergens. These precautions include: please do not bring food with peanuts, tree nuts, peanut butter or foods made with nuts or prepackaged food with a printed warning label (“may contain peanuts/tree nuts”); please do not share food with others; please clean up areas where you are eating to clean off remnant food particles; please wash hands with both soap and water if you or your child has eaten a nut product; and please observe the designated “nut free” area in the lobby near the gymnasium window and the pool balcony. Please understand that these precautions are not mandates, and that YWCA Greenwich cannot guarantee that a child or adult will not be exposed to conditions that could cause an allergic reaction. For this reason, members and others visiting the building should never assume that a food item brought into the facility by another is safe.
For the safety of all members and staff, no glass or any breakable materials, even those covered in silicone, will be allowed on the pool deck or in the fitness center.
Only service animals with the proper identification are allowed in the YWCA facility. Pets are not permitted inside the facility or outdoors on the property.
