YWCA Greenwich’s 2024 Walk the Walk Against Domestic Violence
YWCA Greenwich kicked off Domestic Violence Prevention and Awareness Month with Walk the Walk and 5K Run Against Domestic Violence.
This event, now in its 6th year, raises funds to support YWCA Greenwich’s Harmony Project, which provides services and support for victims of domestic and sexual violence.
Over 200 runners and walkers took part in the event at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, which began with remarks by YWCA Greenwich’s President and CEO, Mary Lee Kiernan and a proclamation by First Selectman Fred Camillo declaring October to be Domestic Violence Prevention and Awareness Month in Greenwich. Co-Chairs Police Chief James Heavey, Tracy Guarnera and Heather Sahrbeck led the event with volunteers from Greenwich Police Department, Greenwich Emergency Medical Services, Greenwich Fire Department and YWCA Greenwich Board members.
