Lauren Rabin
Lauren Rabin has been a Greenwich resident since she was nine years old. She is the middle child between her brother Jay and sister Karen, all of whom were raised by their mother, Carol, who resides at the Nathanial Witherell. Lauren attended and graduated from Greenwich Public Schools and got her BA in Business Management from Keene State College.
Lauren and her husband David have been married for 34 years and have raised two sons who are both Greenwich Public School graduates: Scott, married to Yuriko Honda and Eric. Lauren has two grandsons, Noah, and Leo.
Lauren has spent over 40 years in technology, leading diverse teams and developing high performers. In addition to her career, she has volunteered for PTAs at each level, PTA Council, Greenwich Youth Football, the Greenwich Baseball Foundation, and the Greenwich Alliance for Education. Lauren also served on the Board of Human Services and was elected to the RTM and Board of Education.
Currently, Lauren is in her third term as Selectwoman, serving as liaison to the Commission on Aging, liaison to Selectmen’s Nomination Advisory Committee, Chair of the First Selectman’s Re-Imagine Greenwich Committee, Board of Selectmen (BOS) representative to the Affordable Housing Trust Board, BOS ex-officio on the GHS Security Entrance Building Committee, BOS ex-officio on the Central Middle School (CMS) Building Committee, Chair of the CMS Building Committee Communications sub-committee, Western Council of Governments (WestCog) Chief Elected Officer (CEO) representative, Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency (CIRMA) Board of Directors and leads the publishing of our municipal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Lauren feels more comfortable working behind the scenes, which may be surprising to people considering her very public role for the Town of Greenwich. However, she enjoys her job so much because she loves to see the positive impact on people’s lives that results from her efforts. Lauren’s motto is, “It is only what you give away that enriches you from day to day!” With her immense support of different organizations in the community and the impact that she has on Greenwich, Lauren definitely lives by this motto.
